WonderFL – Walton County
Located in the Northwest of Florida, bordering the Gulf of Mexico, Walton County is a place that many Floridians call home. In 1824, Walton County was created by European Settlers, and it was a part of a colony that the British inhabited in West Florida. Since then, Walton County has become a must-see area when visiting Florida.
Perhaps the biggest trademark to Walton County is 30-A. 30-A is a highway that runs along the Emerald Coast starting in southern Walton County. This scenic path takes visitors through notable beach towns such as Alys, Rosemary, and Seaside. Each town has plenty of shopping, great cuisine, and even better aesthetics. From shopping to great dining, 30-A has a spot for everyone.
Walton County is also in the process of developing and innovating areas found in the county. One site that shows this progress is Hammock Bay. Hammock Bay is a residential community located in Freeport. This small metropolis is a collection of homes, apartments, and community establishments. In Hammock Bay, a person can find great food, shopping and even a place to stay.
In Grayton Beach State Park, a visitor can find a more adventurous side of Walton County. This state park has 59 camping sites along with breathtaking dunes and views of the Gulf. The park is also home to many trails, fishing areas, and kayaking.
Whether the dunes or the 30-A Highway sound like loads of fun, Walton County has something for every visitor. From visiting the local beaches to kayaking down the shore, Walton County is ready for a visit!
